This morning I had my final internal scan. Monday 24th June, just 13 weeks to the day after my last final scan from my first failed attempt.
Things are looking as we had hoped they would. Upping the medication has given me a couple of extra follicles. Required size being 16-20 m.
13 weeks ago, I had
Left ovary - 9 follicles (6 at required size)
Right ovary - 6 follicles (5 at required size)
Lining 10.3 mm
Today, I have
Left ovary - 12 follicles (8 at required size)
Right ovary - 11 follicles (9 at required size)
Lining 13.6 mm
As before the side effects and discomfort are not pleasant, but are completely manageable. The one thing this time that has been caused by upping the medication is nausea and some bloating. So I will be monitored for OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome).
My trigger injection is due tonight at 9.45pm. They have also changed this medication. Last time I had Ovitrelle, this time Pregnyl. It's not quite as simple as the Ovitrelle pen, it’s two files of powder I need to mix with liquid but I have used similar years ago with IUI medication.
My procedure is only 2 days away. Wednesday 26th June 2019. At least this time I’ve ”been there, done it” and know what to expect. All we can hope for, is just those extra couple of eggs, then if we have another large drop off of eggs/embryos then we will hopefully have more than 1 left this time.
I have tomorrow's split shift to get through and then I have 1 week off work. I’m ready for the unknown and I’m ready for this next chapter, please please please let it be a happy ending!...
